Mercutio
Mercutio was one of Romeo's friends as well as his cousin. Mercutio had a very good but sometimes rude sense of humor. He was a bit disrespectful but a very fun character to be around. He often teased Romeo about his love life. Mercutio was also killed by Tybalt in a small skirmish.

Romeo
Romeo was one of the main characters of the play. Romeo is a young man who falls in love with his eyes easily. He falls in love with Juliet at first site and then marries her within a day. Romeo is a very charming and nice young man. He is also a Montegue which is the enemy of the family of his lover. Eventually he commits suicide because of his lovers death.

Benvolio
Benvolio is Romeo's cousin and also his best friend. The reason for their friendship is Benvolio's gentleness and fragility as a friend. Benvolio is one of the nicest characters in the play. He persuades Romeo to do the right thing many times during the play. He normally doesn't want to fight and lives in peace.

Juliet
Juliet is one of the main characters of the play. Juliet is a young woman who falls in love with Romeo at first site. She is a beautiful young girl and is very charming. She is known as one of the fairest girls in Verona. Her and Romeo marry within a day. Nurse mothers and treasures her more than her mother, Lady Capulet did. Eventually she commits suicide because she thinks Romeo is dead.

Tybalt
Tybalt is Juliet's cousin and Romeo's arch enemy. Tybalt is responsible for the death of Mercutio and for most of the violence that goes on between the families. Tybalt is later killed by Romeo in vengeance for Mercutio's death. Tybalt is very quick-tempered and ill most of the time.
